The Ed & Rae Schollmaier Basketball Complex was officially dedicated to the TCU men's and women's basketball programs on April 2, 2004. At the cost of over $5-million, the Ed & Rae Schollmaier Basketball Complex provides a first-class environment and facility for the TCU student-athletes and coaches while serving as a model of state-of-the-art facilities to collegiate programs all over the country.
The 22,000-square-foot basketball complex features two NCAA regulation basketball courts, office space for both the TCU men's and women's basketball coaching staffs, meeting rooms, coaches' locker rooms, a lobby area as well as a weight room, which is specifically for the men's and women's basketball student-athletes.
The Ed & Rae Schollmaier Basketball Complex also features glass windows where faithful of the TCU men's and women's basketball programs can watch practice in addition to a state-of-the-art video system. With two NCAA regulation basketball courts as well as six basketball hoops, the TCU men's and women's basketball complex is ranked as one of the top practice facilities in the country.
Located next to Schollmaier Arena where the two facilities are connected by an enclosed walkway for easy access, the Ed & Rae Schollmaier Basketball Complex is available to the TCU men's and women's basketball programs 24 hours, seven days a week.
TCU Board of Trustees member Ed Schollmaier is a former Fort Worth business executive in addition to the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Alcon Laboratories. Currently serving as the company's non-executive Chairman, Schollmaier is heavily involved in all aspects at TCU where he chairs the Building and Grounds Committee and serves as Chairman of the Executive and Intercollegiate Athletics Committees and Committee of Trusteeship. His wife, Rae, is a civic volunteer who has served on TCU's Fine Arts Board of Visitors as well as the Fine Arts Task Force of the Commission on the Future of TCU.
