FORT WORTH, Texas - The women's rifle program along with junior Jimmie Pharr were selected as the TCU Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts for the Horned Frogs this past week.

The TCU women's rifle team captured its first-ever national championship while five members of the team were honored with All-American laurels. Erin Lorenzen was honored as the Most Outstanding Athlete of the championships while the TCU senior along with newcomers Sarah Scherer and Sarah Beard also claimed All-American accolades in both smallbore and air rifle. Simone Riford and Caitlin Morrissey garnered All-American honored in air rifle.

Scherer was crowned the NCAA Smallbore National Champion Friday and Erin Lorenzen notched a fourth-place finish. On Saturday, three Frogs competed in the air rifle finals, with Lorenzen finishing second. Scherer tallied a fifth-place finish and Morrissey rounded out the field with an eighth place finish.

Pharr helped the fourth-ranked Frogs to a sweep of Big 12 Conference-foe Texas Tech on the diamond as the TCU junior finished with three hits (all home runs) to go along with five RBI and three runs scored. The TCU catcher connected on a pair of home runs in Saturday's victory followed by a three-run homer in Sunday afternoon's triumph.
