April 18, 2017

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Emeilo Ferguson of men's track & field and Carley Barnett of women's equestrian have been named TCU's Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week based on impressive performances over the weekend.

Ferguson, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, had a very successful meet in front of a home crowd at the Horned Frogs Invitational on Saturday. Ferguson ran the second leg of the men's 4x100-meter relay. The quartet ran a season-best time of 39.15, behind only Florida, who currently holds the fastest time in the nation this year. TCU's latest effort ranks ninth in the NCAA.

Ferguson then went on to win the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.16 (w+5.1). To cap his day, the junior placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.94 (w+4.5).

Barnett, a native of Pilot Point, Texas, played a pivotal role in TCU's 9-7 victory over No. 1 Baylor in the quarterfinals of the NCEA National Championship on Friday. The win marked the first time the Frogs have defeated the No. 1 seed at Nationals.

Barnett gave her all in a 151-point ride on Cody which would eventually earn her a point for TCU against Gabby Conte's 137. It was Barnett's last point that secured the victory.
