FORT WORTH- Sophomore men’s golfer, Julien Brun, and senior women’s cross-country runner, Agnes Kemboi have been selected as TCU’s Athletes of the Week for exceptional performances in both of their sports the past week.
Brun won the overall individual title by three strokes at the Carmel Cup in Monterey, California. He shot a 10-under par score of 206 (70-68-68) and won both of his matches on Saturday, which gave him the overall win. A native of Antibes, France, Brun arrived at TCU as a high impact recruit with a world amateur ranking of No. 63.
Kemboi made a great start to her senior year by placing second at the Bear Twilight Invitational at Baylor University. She finished with a time of 13:40.1 leading the women’s team. Coming from Eldoret, Kenya, Kemboi has lead as the top finisher in almost every meet for her career as a Frog.
TCU cross-country will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 15 when they compete at the Ken Garland Invitational in Denton, Texas. TCU men’s golf returns to action in mid-October for its final tournament of the fall when it takes part in the annual Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Windmere, Fla.
