Victor Boschini
TCU Chancellor

"Welcome, I am Victor Boschini and I am very privileged to work at Texas Christian University. I am here today to make a very exciting announcement that will affect all of us. TCU has been experiencing a remarkable period of growth, and it's amazing in just about every area of the University. Our campus has undergone some of the most significant transformations in the history of the University. We continue to establish new and exciting programs in our schools and colleges, but, most importantly, we are recruiting outstanding faculty, staff and especially students. We are all very proud of that."

"Today, I have the pleasure of introducing some of the newest members of our Frog family. When a search committee started a national search for our new athletics director, there was a remarkable amount of interest. That signifies to me that the reputation of our athletic program is well known at the national level. What we wanted was obvious. We wanted someone with a proven ability to lead a robust college athletic program. We wanted someone with unquestionable integrity. We wanted an individual who values achievement in the classroom as much as valuing achievement on the field. We also wanted an individual who will build key relationships within our community, while managing the complexities of a vital and active athletic department. We also wanted this person to do all of this while advancing our athletic program and also furthering TCU's strategic goals."

"I'm pleased to tell you today that, thanks to the hard work of an excellent search committee, we have found a stellar professional who will undoubtedly build upon the momentum of the Horned Frog athletic program."

"At this time, I would also like to say a special welcome today to Rick Wittenbraker. Rick is a member of our Board of Trustees and is chairman of the athletics committee on the Board. He put in countless hours on this search. I would really want to thank Rick personally and on behalf of this institution. We could not have done it without you. At this time, please join me in welcoming our new athletics director, Mr. Chris Del Conte."

TCU Athletics Director

"Chancellor Boschini, selection committee and Rick, I can't thank you enough for this honor of allowing me to serve the student-athletes and coaches here at TCU. This is a big day for me and my family. I would like to introduce my wife, Dr. Robin Ward, and my two daughters, Sophia and Sienna. Danny (Morrison) didn't have any children around, so it is going to be an interesting adjustment for all of us. They have been everywhere the entire time, but it's fun. It is my greatest honor to be a dad and to be a parent."

"Before we talk about TCU, I want to stop and acknowledge the folks at Rice, because they have been very dear to me. This decision was never about Rice. It was always about TCU. The vision this institution has, to be great academically and athletically, should inspire all of us. Our goals are not only to be great in the classrooms, but to be great on the playing fields. The Board of Trustees and the Chancellor have outlined a plan for us to get there and that is absolutely inspiring. So to the people at Rice, I thank you for the opportunity. It was a great three and a half years. I am going to miss them dearly, but that gave me an opportunity to be here, and I thank them for that."

"Where we are headed here is truly great. If you look at all of the things that have happened in the last couple of years, it's remarkable. To sit here today, on the verge of playing BYU in three days with Gameday there, it is unbelievable the excitement that TCU has on campus and at the national level. I am truly honored to be a part of that."

"I can tell you that my wife and I excited about the Fort Worth community. Having young children and a wife that is an educator, education is important to us. What is important too is winning at the highest level and TCU wins in every facet of the game, academically and athletically. We are truly excited to be here. Chancellor, I hope in our time here that we will make you proud, because what you have done here is absolutely extraordinary. Thank you so much for bestowing the honor upon us. We will serve your student-athletes well."

"It is first and foremost about students. I will assure you that this is not a dictator here, coaches. This is an individual who will serve our student-athletes first and foremost. The wind beneath the wings of coaches to make sure that they have all of the tools necessary to win, because that is what it's all about - giving them the tools to win. Coaches are here to succeed and win championships. My job is to give them the tools necessary to do that."
