Davis Babb came to TCU in 1998 as Associate Athletics Director for External Operations and was named Associate Athletics Director for Development on Aug. 1, 1999.
Babb oversees all athletic fundraising activities for the University with a primary emphasis on major gifts for athletics, new facilities and capital improvements. He also oversees the operation of the TCU Frog Club. He was named the University Division 2001 Fund Raiser of the Year by the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD).
Babb has over 20 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, both as a coach and administrator. Prior to TCU, Babb spent 13 years at Virginia Military Institute, including the final seven years as Athletics Director.
Babb is a 1978 graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., where he majored in Speech and Communications. At Appalachian State, he lettered four seasons in tennis, capturing both Southern Conference singles and doubles titles. Following graduation, Babb worked as an account executive with the Charlotte Observer and WBT Radio in Charlotte, N.C. In 1982, Babb returned to college athletics as the Head Women's Tennis Coach at Furman University. In 1984, Babb left Furman to join the VMI athletic department.
Babb and his wife, Anne, are the parents of two sons: Carter and Nick.
