Black Named Assistant Rifle Coach

Black was a six-time All-American at TCU

TCU women's rifle head coach Karen Monez announced the hiring of Hannah Black as the new assistant coach in the summer of 2017. Black returns to her alma mater after a year as the assistant coach at Ole Miss.

"I am thrilled that Hannah will be returning to her alma mater where she enjoyed tremendous success as a TCU student-athlete," said Monez. "As a member of the rifle team, Hannah lead the Frogs with a commitment to excellence that is needed to be successful and I look for her to bring that same mentality back to TCU as a coach."

Black's presence at the range played immediate dividends as TCU put together yet another successful season. The Horned Frogs won 12 of 14 matches en route to a third place finish at the NCAA Championships. At the end of the season, five Frogs combined to earn 13 All-America honors.

In her time with the Rebels, Black helped senior Alison Weisz qualify as an individual for the 2017 NCAA Championships where she turned in an 11th place finish in air rifle and was honored as a second-team All-American.

Black was a four-year member of the TCU Rifle team from 2012-16. TCU qualified for the NCAA Championships all four years she was a member of the squad. As a freshman, Black qualified as an individual in air rifle and fired a 594 to earn a spot in the finals and ultimately finished fifth overall. In her final three seasons on campus, Black was one of the five shooters at the championships helping TCU to a sixth place finish in 2014, a third place finish in 2015 and a second place finish in 2016.

She has also been a part of the US National Team since 2014 where she has participated in numerous international competitions. Black has participated in the Pan Am games, the Bavarian Airgun Championships, the Championship of the America's games in addition to taking part in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic trials as well as five World Cups.

She earned six All-America honors over the course of her career. In addition, her success bled over into the classroom as well. She was a member of the National Honor Society of College Scholars in addition to being on the Dean's List for eight semesters.
