• Recorded a 590 air rifle at season opening home match to record her personal best.
• At same competition recorded her best air rifle and smallbore aggregate of 1167.
• Fired a season high and personal best of 581 smallbore in El Paso at UTEP match.
• Scored a 381 air rifle and 571 smallbore at Hawaii Junior Olympic Match fired at St. Louis High School in Honolulu to finish first in both events.
• Qualified for National Junior Olympics held at Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the third time in her shooting career...finished 16th in air rifle with a 387 and 388...fired a 568 and 571 smallbore to qualify for the final and finished 6th overall.
• Scored a 386, 389 and 390 at Pan American tryouts held at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs...second day score of 389 qualified her for the finals competition at which she fired a 101.8...finished competition as 9th place junior.
• Finished freshman year with team's Highest Smallbore Average.
Prior to TCU: An NRA classified sharpshooter, was invited to the Junior Olympics in 2005 and 2006... was the air rifle state individual champion in 2005... team won the state team title in 2004 and 2005... was first-team all-state in rifle... was the team's high scorer all five seasons she competed.
Personal: Full name is Simone Riford... daughter of Lloyd and Mary Riford ... has one sister, Lauren... enjoys surfing, body boarding, painting and hiking... majoring in studio art.
