Honored with the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship at the conclusion of the season... garnered first-team All-American honors in both smallbore and air rifle for the fourth consecutive season... only the 10th student-athlete to accomplish this feat since 1936... represented the United States proudly as she placed seventh at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England with a score of 499... one of four Frogs to compete in every match this season in both disciplines... never finished below third place all season... earned first or second in every regular season match... achieved 16 first place finishes, including 10 straight in both disciplines... put together seven consecutive weeks of the top score in the smallbore competition (Sept. 30-Jan. 19)... fired off scores of 590 or better in every air rifle competition this season... strung together four consecutive weeks of 590 or higher in the smallbore discipline (Oct. 20-Nov. 17) and achieved that feat six times this season... opened the season with scores of 598 in air rifle and 595 in smallbore at Ole Miss (Sept. 30)... reached new heights in smallbore against UTEP (Oct. 20) as she fired 596... established an NCAA record with an aggregate score of 1,195 (599 in air rifle and 596 smallbore) at Ohio State (Nov. 12)... matched her own aggregate record (1,195) on Feb. 2 at UTEP as she shot a 593 in air rifle and a personal best 597 in smallbore... helped the Frogs win the smallbore team championship at the NCAA Rifle Championship with a score of 588 (Mar. 9)... fired off a 686.7 at the NCAA smallbore individual championship to finish third... also finished second in the air rifle individual championship at the event with a score of 695.3... averaged a team-leading 595 in air rifle and 591 in smallbore for the season.
Had one of the best single-seasons in TCU Rifle history... member of the 2012 NRA All-American team... named first-team All-American in both air rifle and smallbore... featured in March 26 edition of Sports Illustrated for "Faces in the Crowd" after being named the NCAA Championships' Most Outstanding Athlete... took home her second career smallbore national title... also finished third in air rifle at the championships... one of three Frogs to compete in all 13 matches this season in both events... earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic team with a second-place air rifle finish at the trials in February... took home six-straight first-place finishes in both air rifle and smallbore to open the season (Oct. 1-Nov. 19)... took home top honors in air rifle in every regular season match... fired a 593 or better in every air rifle event on the year... opened the season against UTEP (Oct. 1) with scores of 596 in air rifle and 589 in smallbore... made history when she shot a perfect 600 score against then-undefeated Alaska on Nov. 1... became one of four student-athletes all-time and just the second female and first Horned Frog to fire a perfect 600 score... her highest aggregate score (1181) and best smallbore (591) score of the season came against Jacksonville State (Nov. 12)... the contest marked her first match of the season to score 590 or better in both events... the second match came against then-undefeated Kentucky (Jan. 21) with totals of 597 in air rifle and 590 in smallbore... turned in a solid performance against another then-undefeated West Virginia (Jan. 28) with scores of 595 in air rifle and 589 in smallbore... her tallies of 595 and 587 in air rifle and smallbore, respectively, at the NCAA Qualifier helped guide the Frogs to yet another opportunity to compete at the NCAA Championships... fired a 589 in smallbore to earn a spot in the smallbore finals where she fired a 99.6 to win the National Championship... also shot a 593 in air rifle to help the Frogs win the NCAA Championship in air rifle... earned a spot in the air rifle finals and finished third after shooting a 100.3 to earn a third place finish... averaged a team-leading 597 in air rifle and 587 in smallbore for the season.
Got off to an explosive start with two high finishes at the Ole Miss Invitational on Oct. 2, taking first place in air rifle with a 595 and tying for second overall in smallbore with a 584...matched her season high in combined points on Oct. 16 vs. UTEP, shooting another 595 in air rifle and a 584 in smallbore...tied for first in air rifle with a 592 on Oct. 24 at West Virginia... took first place outright in smallbore and tied for first in air rifle on Oct. 30 at Murray State with scores of 586 and 593, respectively...tied for second overall in air rifle on Nov. 7 vs. Nebraska with a score of 592...captured first place in both smallbore and air rifle at The Citadel on Nov. 13 with scores of 583 and 596, respectively, with the latter tying her school record...shot a 580 in smallbore at Alaska-Fairbanks on Nov. 21, finishing third...fired another record-tying 596 in air rifle and took first place at Air Force on Jan. 16...took first in air rifle and third in smallbore with scores of 594 and 579, respectively at Nebraska on Feb. 6...tied the school record once again with another 596 in air rifle on Feb. 10 vs. Air Force...fired a 593 in air rifle in the NCAA Qualifier vs. Air Force on Feb. 12, good for second place overall...took home fourth place overall in air rifle and twelfth overall in smallbore at the NCAA Championships, shooting a 595 and 581, respectively... named first-team All-American in both smallbore and air rifle for the second straight season, and earned CRCA Academic All-American honors.
Earned a spot on the United States national team for the Bavarian Championships in Munich and brought home a gold medal and a fourth place finish... was named USA Shooting Athlete of the Month in both February and May...competed in the National Junior Olympic Rifle Championships, taking home a second place overall finish by firing a 99.7 in the finals...took part in a total of four world cup events, taking home the gold in the Women's 10m Air Rifle competition in Changwon, South Korea where she also earned a 2012 Olympic quota for the US national team...also competed at the National Junior Olympic Championship, finishing with two silver medals in Women's 10m Air Rifle and Women's 50m Rifle Three Position.
Claimed the first-ever individual National Championship in Rifle history with a score of 685 in smallbore at the 2010 National Championships ... finished sixth individually in air rifle, helping TCU claims its first-ever NCAA National Championship in air rifle as well as the team National Championship ... honored in both smallbore and air rifle as an All-American for the 2009-10 season ... finished first at the Ole Miss invitation in air rifle after shooting a 595... placed 10th in smallbore with a score of 574 ... posted the top aggregate score (1172) against Kentucky after finishing first in Air Rifle with a score of 594 and shooting a 578 in smallbore ... came in second overall after finishing third in smallbore (578) and second in air rifle (591) against Alaska-Fairbanks ... set an air rifle school record with a score of 596 against Murray State ... posted first-place finishes in both air rifle (592) and smallbore (586) against The Citadel ... Against Nebraska Scherer shot a season high of 588 in Smallbore that led to a 1st place overall finish in the match ... shot a 590 in air rifle and a 578 in smallbore at Air Force on Jan. 16 ... tied her career-high in air rifle with the score of 596 against Air Force on Jan. 17... shot a 593 in air rifle and a 580 in smallbore against UTEP ... took home first place against Air Force in the NCAA Qualifier with a aggregate score of 1168 (590, air rifle; 578, smallbore) ... honored with the All-Academic Award given by The Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association.
Competed at the Winter AirGun Championships Dec. 4-6.... set a national record with a perfect score of 400 in the 10m Air Riffle Competition for a 1st place finish in the event on day one... shot a 102.8 to set a new overall record with a final tally of 502.8 in the finals at the Winter AirGun Championships ... on day two, she took home top honors in the women's and women's junior Winter AirGun Competition ... Fired a 399 to earn top spot in the 10m Air Rifle women's competition ... Combined with her 103.3 in the final, posted a total of 502.3 to finish as top performer in the event ... took home top honors for the third straight day in the women's junior Winter AirGun competition ... earned her second National Championship for the season at the National Junior Olympic Rifle Championships in air rifle ... competed in Germany at the Bavarian Championships and had two great performances ... on the first day, shot a 395 to finish 21st and on the second day she improved her score to 397, finishing 11th overall... also competed at the World Championships in Munich, Germany over the summer... took home a silver medal in smallbore 3-position after shooting a 585... helped the United States to a gold medal in the smallbore 3-position junior world championships... she combined with fellow Frog Sarah Beard and Ohio State's Amanda Furrer to take home the gold medal, defeating Germany by 14 points and the Chinese team by 11... the combined effort of 1747 total points (586 points from Furrer, 582 from Scherer, and 579 from Beard) was the golden standard that demolished the old world record by 11 points.
