Feb. 17, 2014
EL PASO, Texas - The TCU Rifle team ended its 2013-14 regular season on a high note, recording a 4,648-4,579 victory over UTEP on Sunday.
It was another big day for freshman Sally Li, whose 585 in smallbore was a new career-high. She had previously topped out at 581 in three separate outings this year. Her 1,178 aggregate finish was another new personal-best. Kelly Bogart also produced a 1,157 total score, which was one shy of her career-high set on Nov. 23.
The Horned Frogs as a whole recorded its best aggregate finish in six matches, dating back to a Nov. 15 battle with Jacksonville State when they had 4,656. TCU has also improved its overall score in four straight matches.
Li's 593 in air rifle set the standard for shooters on both squads. Megan Lee posted a 585 in the discipline while Jamie Dowd also added a 584. Hannah Black was second for TCU in the smallbore discipline with a 576.
Korina Rodriguez was the Miners' top performer in smallbore with a 579. Jessica Kinder led the way in air rifle with a 586 and was followed by Rodriguez's 583.
While the regular season is over, the Horned Frogs will have one more home match this year. TCU will host Air Force on Saturday in an NCAA Qualifier.
