Rifle Turns In Solid Performance Saturday

The Horned Frogs put together a dominating performance in smallbore, firing a 2,347 in the discipline. The score is the sixth-highest in program history. In air rifle, the Frogs fired a 2,365.
Mindy Miles returned to form in smallbore, tying her career high with a facility-record 595. That mark is tied for second all-time in program history. In the discipline, TCU turned in the match’s top four scores. Elizabeth Marsh finished second with a score of 585, with Rachel Garner right behind her with a mark of 584. Casey Lutz rounded out the top four with a 583.
In air rifle, Lutz shot a career-high 598 to lead all shooters. Miles finished third after shooting a 593. Garner fired a 588 and Marsh a 586 to round out the counting scores in air rifle. While not factoring in the team score, Emily Haag matched her season-high with a 587.
Miles was the match’s top overall shooter with an aggregate score of 1,188 followed by Lutz in second with a 1,181.
Air Force shot a 4,683 as a team, leading the match with a team score of 2,369 in air rifle while firing a 2,314 in smallbore. Logan Ogden (595 – air rifle; 581 – smallbore) paced the Falcons, finishing third among all shooters with a 1,176 aggregate score.
TCU will officially be named one of the eight teams to qualify for the championships on Wednesday, Feb. 21 when the NCAA Selection Show airs on NCAA.com at 4 (CT).
