FORT WORTH - The TCU women's rifle team got their season off to a strong start over the weekend with a second place finish at the Ole Miss Invite. The Horned Frogs posted a strong aggregate score, shooting a 2,313 in smallbore and a 2,348 in air rifle for a 4,661 aggregate, just seven shots behind first-place Jacksonville.

Megan Lee finished first overall in smallbore after shooting a 586. She fired a 197 in kneeling, a 198 in prone and a 191 standing. Freshman Sally Li was TCU's top shooter in air rifle, finishing fourth with a 592 (99-97-99-100-98-99).

TCU's smallbore score was the second-best among the 10 collegiate teams shooting. Li finished eighth after shooting a 579 (191 kneeling, 197 prone, 191 standing), while Hannah Black rounded out the top 10 with a 577 (193 kneeling, 196 prone, 188 standing). Catherine Green contributed a 571 (197 kneeling, 196, prone, 178 standing) to the counting squad.

Shooting smallbore, but not factoring in the team score were Claudia Duksa (571), Kelly Bogart (566), Katie Bridges (565), Jaime Dowd (565) and Allie Taschuk (561).

The Frogs took home a third-place finish in air rifle. As a group, they posted a score of 2,348 tying with Murray State. TCU lost the tie-breaker as Murray State hit 155 center shots to TCU's 150.

Dowd turned in a seventh-place finish, shooting a 589 (98-98-99-99-98-97). Green shot a 584 (96-99-98-99-97-95). She was followed closely by Lee's 583 (95-97-99-96-98-98) and Black's 582 (98-95-96-97-99-97).

Taschuk matched her career-high with a 584 (99-96-96-97-97-99). Duksa made her first appearance with her air rifle since her freshman season. She fired a 575 (95-95-97-94-98-96).

TCU returns to action Saturday at The Citadel.
