WEST POINT, N.Y. - TCU's rifle squad was unable to overcome three Army shooters placing first-through third individually in both disciplines, as the Horned Frogs finished second to the Black Knights Saturday in West Point, N.Y. The Frogs scored 4,510 in the smallbore and 1,511 in the air rifle for a total of 6,021, 130 points behind Army and 324 points ahead of the University of Sciences-Philadelphia.

TCU was led in the smallbore by freshman Sherri Gallagher (Prescott, Ariz./Prescott Christian), who posted a career-high 1,153 to place fourth in the discipline. Fellow freshman and school record-holder Celeste Green (Lufkin, Texas/Hewitt) followed with a 1,146, good for sixth place, while seniors Stacy Hughes (Georgetown, Texas/Georgetown) and Jessica Green (Lufkin, Texas/Homeschool) rounded out the Frogs' efforts by placing 12th and 13th, respectively. However, Hughes' 1,106 marked the first time in her career that she broke the 1,100-point plateau.

The Black Knights also took first through third in the air rifle to claim the meet title. Hughes and Celeste Green were right behind, tying for fourth with a 382. Gallagher added a top-10 finish, placing ninth with 374. Jessica Green came in 11th with a 373.

TCU returns to action with a three-meet weekend in Alabama, Nov. 22-24. The Frogs will visit UAB on Friday, Nov. 22, Jacksonville State on Saturday, Nov. 23 and close the trip with a Nov. 24 meet at Birmingham-Southern.
