Preview: At UTEP

FORT WORTH – The No. 2 ranked TCU women’s rifle team will look to close out the regular season with a solid performance at No. 20 UTEP. The Horned Frogs and the Miners will face off on Saturday in El Paso.

TCU continues to sit second in the NCAA in smallbore average (2,338), air rifle average (2,379) and aggregate score (4,718). The Frogs are one of just two teams nationally to have fired a 4,700 or better in every match this season.

Mindy Miles leads the NCAA in air rifle average at 598, while the Frogs have three of the top 10 smallbore shooters in Rachel Garner (585), Elizabeth Marsh (583) and Miles (583).

UTEP has a season aggregate average of 4,588. In air rifle, the Miners average a 2,318 and in smallbore they average a 2,270. Bailey Powell leads the Mines with a 587 average in air rifle and a 572 average in smallbore.

TCU will begin postseason play Feb. 3 at the Patriot Rifle Conference championships hosted by Air Force.
