Rifle In Second After Day One of Championships

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The TCU Horned Frogs produced a strong showing in its first of two days at the inaugural PRC Championship, coming in second during Saturday's smallbore round.
TCU's 2306 combined score just edged host Ohio State by one point and Air Force by three points. Alaska-Fairbanks took the top spot in the smallbore round with a 2,339-point showing.
It was all about the youth movement for TCU on the first day of its first-ever conference championship. Sophomores Hannah Black (581) and Megan Lee (580) were its top performers, while Sally Li added a 578. Catherine Green and Kelly Bogart each produced a 567 to round out the scoring.
Alaska-Fairbanks' Tim Sherry held the top overall score on the day, firing a 588. His teammates Ryan Anderson and Lorelei Stanfield were the second and third top scorers with 587s apiece.
Amanda Luoma (581) was Ohio State's top shooter. Other leading performers by team were David Higgins (581) of Air Force and Greta Ochsner (567) of Nevada.
The championships continue on Sunday with the air rifle discipline.
