FORT WORTH - The TCU Rifle team will look to win its 18th consecutive match Saturday when it travels to Columbus, Ohio, to take on Ohio State. The Horned Frogs are also winners of 35 straight regular season matches dating back to 2009.

TCU is quite familiar with the Ohio State rifle range, as its the site where it won its second national title in the last three years back on March 10.

The Horned Frogs are coming off a 4,680-4,595 win over Memphis Saturday in Fort Worth. Sarah Scherer and Sarah Beard finished first and second, respectively, in air rifle and smallbore as TCU cruised in both disciplines. Scherer's 590 in smallbore was her second consecutive outing of 590 or better and was her third time reaching that mark in four matches this year. In air rifle, Megan Lee kept up her solid freshman year with a 584 and Kelly Bogart, Jaime Dowd, and Hannah Black all shot 576's. Caitlin Morrissey also fired a 587 in air rifle.

Scherer has already broken the NCAA smallbore record, shooting a 596 versus UTEP on Oct. 20. TCU also opened the season with back-to-back outings of 4,700 or more.

The Buckeyes recorded season highs in air rifle and smallbore their last time out, a 4610-4550 victory over Morehead State on Sunday. Amanda Luoma's 589 in smallbore was the team's highest individual mark of the season, leading to their season-best score of 2324. Several other Buckeyes caught fire last weekend, as Remington Lyman shot a personal-best smallbore score, while Robert Mangaudis III and Alexander Kimura fired new season-highs in air rifle. Ohio State also won the Purdue Invitational two weekends ago and before that set then-team highs back on Oct. 14 against Air Force, Akron, and West Virginia.
