Rifle Heavyweights Meet In Kentucky

FORT WORTH - The TCU women's rifle team will put its 18-match win streak on the line Saturday when they take on a Kentucky squad that has dominated in its first six matches of the season.  The match is set to take place at Kentucky's Barker Hall.

About TCU
The Horned Frogs have won 36 straight regular season matches dating back to the 2009 season. Most recently, they are coming off a record-setting performance against Ohio State that saw them set school records in aggregate (2,708) and smallbore (2,348). Additionally, TCU's top shooter, Sarah Scherer, set an NCAA record with an aggregate score of 1,195 (599 in air rifle and 596 in smallbore).

Megan Lee has put together a solid first season as she shot a personal best 587 in smallbore to go along with her 583 in air rifle last week against the Buckeyes. Sarah Beard fired a 583 in smallbore to finish third and a 590 in air rifle to place second in the match.

About Kentucky
The Wildcats are shooting an average aggregate score of 4,682 this season. En route to the 6-0 start to the season, Kentucky set an NCAA record in a win over Army on Oct. 21. as they fired a 4,716 as a team. In their last outing, the Wildcats handed Navy a 4,697-4,591 defeat.

Kentucky is led by Henri Junghanel in both disciplines. He averages a 588 in smallbore and a 592 in air rifle. He fired a season-high 597 in the Wildcats last outing against Navy. Emily Holsopple was the top smallbore shooter as she fired a 586.
