Head Coach Roger Ivy

Roger Ivy has been the head rifle coach at TCU since its conception in August 1991.

Coaching a rifle team is nothing new to Ivy, who has coached university rifle teams at Centenary College, Jackson State University, and Henderson State University. His Henderson team won the Arkansas Collegiate Rifle League Freshmen and Varsity Championship in 1989 and the Varsity Championship in 1990.

Ivy was a member of the 172nd Infantry Brigade Championship Combat Rifle Team in Alaska and fired Expert with the M16, M14, M60 and the 50 caliber M-2 in the U.S. Army. He was inducted to the Horned Frog Regiment Hall of Honor in 1995.

A native East Texan and a graduate of John Tyler High School in Tyler and Central Texas College, Roger, his wife Eva, and their grandson Kyle spend much of their time working with their horses at their small farm near Springtown, Texas.
