Frog Item -- Competed in the USA Olympic Team Trials in Long Beach, Cal., in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke finishing with a career-best time of 57.21 and 2:03.74, respectively... holds the school record in the 200-back (1:45.56) and member of the record holding 200-medley relay (1:22.62)... has the second fastest time in the 100-back (49.09) and third best in the 500-free (4:28.28).

As a junior in 2003-2004 -- Named the C-USA Swimmer of the Meet... NCAA "B" qualifier... all-conference in six events... won the 100 and 200-back (49.39, 1:45.67), 500-free (4:28.28) and was a member of the winning 800-free relay (6:42.99) and the 400-medley relay (3:19.60) that set a C-USA meet record (3:19.60)... ranked 28th in the nation in the 200-back... qualified for the finals of the 100 and 200-back, finishing fifth in the 200-meter back (2:04.55) and seventh in the 100-meter back (50.20) at the Texas Invitational... finished first in eight individual events and member of seven winning relay teams on the year.

As a sophomore in 2002-2003 -- NCAA "B" cut qualifier... ranked 28th in the nation in 200-back...won the 100-back at the 2003 C-USA Invite in 49.09 seconds, breaking the meet record set by former Horned Frog Aaron Ewert... also claimed top honors in the 200-back in 1:45.56... qualified for the short-course national championships with his 100-back time.

As a freshman in 2001-2002 -- Runner-up to Aaron Ewert in both the 100 and 200-back (50.68;1:49.59) at the 2002 C-USA Men's Invitational... placed tenth in the 500-free (4:37.72).

High School/Club Achievements -- Qualified for the 2004 Olympic Trials and the long-course national championship... high school all-America honoree... collected a bronze medal at the Texas state meet... team captain at Robert E. Lee HS... named Volunteer Athlete of the Year... named the Greater San Antonio Competitor of the Year by the San Antonio Express News in 2001... voted High School Athlete of the Year... class president and member of the National Honor Society... U.S. Army Reserve scholar-athlete in 2001.
