SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The TCU women's swimming and diving team (9-1 overall, 4-1 MWC) returned to form following a one-month layoff from competition by defeating San Diego State and Loyola Marymount on Friday afternoon in San Diego. TCU upended Mountain West Conference foe SDSU by a 163-128 score and downed LMU 165-117.

Sophomore Maribeth Pottenger was a two-event winner for the Horned Frogs. She posted victories in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.75) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.88). Pottenger's time in the 200 was her best effort of the season and was just .4 seconds off her career-best swim.

Diver Kelly Seely was triumphant in a pair of events as well. On the 3-meter board, the senior's score of 299.09 gave her a 62-point victory. Seely also took top honors in the 1-meter with a 277.05.

Success in the 200-yard individual events helped key the Frogs. In addition to Pottenger's win in the 200 breast, senior Jennifer Antisdale took the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.36) and sophomore Emily Duerringer placed first in the 200 free (1:55.51).

In other action, junior Erica Tate dominated the field in the 100-yard butterfly (58.24), winning by nearly two full seconds. Fellow junior Christi Cannon cruised to a triumph in the 400-yard individual medley (4:35.42). Freshman Sarah Bardwell claimed a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle, winning the event with her season-best time of 10:32.17.
