OKLAHOMA CITY – TCU’s women’s swimming and diving team broke three more school records Thursday at the Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championship inside the Oklahoma City Community College Aquatics Center.

“We set three records in the four events today,” TCU coach Richard Sybesma said. “Our best days are still yet to come, but it’s great when we’re doing TCU all-time bests.”

Junior Sabine Rasch and freshman Victoria Thicke-Rattray each bettered their own TCU records during the preliminary competition, while the TCU 400-medley relay team set a TCU all-time mark during Thursday’s finals.

In the 50-free prelims, Rasch clocked an NCAA “B” cut of 22.54, that was better than her previous TCU best mark of 22.84. The Luckenwalde, Germany, native returned in the evening with a 22.58, which was good for third-place overall.

Thicke-Rattray went better than her earlier TCU No. 1 mark of 2:02.40 when she touched the wall in 2:02.37 in the 200-individual medley prelims. In the finals, Thicke-Rattray finished in 2:02.38, the sixth-best time in the event.

The TCU 400-medley relay team of Elizabeth Oster, Gabi Korac, Amanda Vincent and Rasch set the third TCU record of the day when they clocked a 3:46.02. It was better than the previous TCU record of 3:46.08, set at last year’s Mountain West Championship.

TCU returns to action at the event Friday with competition in the 200-free relay, 400-individual medley, 100-fly, 200-free, 100-breast and 100-back.
