Fort Worth, Texas - The Horned Frog women's swimming and diving team took a break from the SMU Swimming and Diving Classic today to host a dual meet against the Florida Gators, a team that finished fifth nationally a year ago.

In the 200 medley relay, Florida claimed first place while two TCU teams closed out the top three places, with senior Erin Irons, sophomore Leann Cathcart, junior Tiffany Strawn, and freshman Erica Tate placing second. Freshman Karen Sandifer had a strong showing in the 200 free, swimming a 1:53.25 time, with fellow freshman Tara Sullivan and sophomore Jennifer Antisdale placing fourth and fifth to collect points for the Horned Frogs.

TCU had a one-two 50 free punch with Irons and Tate claiming the top two spots, Irons swimming a 23.75 and Tate a 24.18. Leann Cathcart also scored some points for the Frogs, placing fourth. Freshman Keleigh Wentworth swam a 2:08.63 200 IM, taking the third spot, while Strawn helped out the team with a point-earning fifth place.

In the one-meter dive, sophomore Kelly Seely scored a 253.05 for second place while senior Codi McLamb and freshman Whitney Wheeler rounded out the top five. In the three-meter, the three swept the top three spots.

Wentworth again did well in the 200 butterfly, swimming a 2:07.45 for a third place finish. Sophomore Jennifer Antisdale swam to a fifth place finish in the same event. Junior Aimee Moreau took third in 200 back with Strawn just behind at fourth. Wentworth and sophomore Sarah Murphy went fourth and fifth in the 500 free, while senior Amber Ferguson won the 200 breast with senior Liz Proffitt and freshman Christi Cannon following to sweep the event. TCU also took the 200 free relay one-two-three, with Tate, Irons, Sandifer, and Sullivan taking first place.

"We really performed well for this early in the season against who I consider to be the toughest team on our schedule," Coach Richard Sybesma said after the meet.

The women are now 1-1 in their dual meet record this year. They are back in action tonight at the SMU Classic.
