TCU Sweeps South Dakota

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU swimming and diving team swept South Dakota and fell to Iowa State at the double dual in Ames, Iowa on Friday. The women's team beat South Dakota 170-130, while Iowa State topped the Horned Frogs 169-130. The men's team beat South Dakota 156-125.
"I think we gained some valuable experience here," head coach Richard Sybesma said. "We really competed hard, but we just came up short."
TCU posted first-place times in 16 of the 32 events.
In the women's 100 free, freshman Ally Robertson earned first place with a time of 53.06. Robertson also placed first in the 200-yard IM with a final time of 2:05.97.
Freshman Victoria Barczyk posted a first-place time of 5:08.32 in the 500-yard freestyle.
TCU's 400-yard freestyle relay team made up of Lohrberg, Roemer, Mikayla Winkler and Robertson placed first at 3:33.78.
The men's team often topped the podium in their events against South Dakota. Among the first-place finishers were Connor Dobbs (1000 free), Leo Sanchez (200 free, 100 free), Tommy Thach (100 back, 200 back), Story (100 breast), Matt Spallas (200 fly), Drewes (50 free) and Destin Hall (200 breast),
In the final event, the men set out a 400 free relay team consisting of all freshmen that secured the best time of 3:07.21. Thach, Drewes, Sanchez and Jack McLaughlin made up the fastest squad.
The Horned Frogs will return to action on Nov. 19 as they travel to College Station, Texas for the Aggie Invitational.
