Dallas, Texas - The TCU men's swimming team dropped its first meet of the season on Thursday night when they fell to SMU, 142-97, at Perkins Natatorium in Dallas. The Frogs, who are now 3-1 in dual action this season, won just two events on the night, but posted a total of 12 season-best times in the competition.

Junior Kelly McCain picked up one of the wins for the team as he finished the 1-meter Springboard event with 330.30 points, beating David Bender of SMU by nearly 30 points (302.47). With the mark, McCain broke his previous school record of 327.75 in the event.

The Frogs other victory came in the very first event of the night in the 400-medley relay with senior Craig Chapman, sophomore Aran Bean, junior Teylor Arboleda and freshman Jonathon Berrettini swimming for the team. The quartet posted a season-best time of 3:28.06 in the event to win by more than four seconds over SMU's second place team.

Bean also earned a pair of second place finishes for the Frogs. In the fifth event of the night, the sophomore finished with a time of 1:57.32 in the 200-IM. Later in the meet, he touched the wall in 2:08.51 for the runner-up finish in the 200-breaststroke.

Both the men and women's team will return to action on Nov. 20 when they will travel to Springfield, Mo., for a tilt against Southwest Missouri State.
