Austin, Texas - The TCU swimming and diving teams closed out the UT-Invite on Saturday night in Austin, Texas. Senior Craig Chapman led the Frogs as he finished in 11th place in the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:47.12, which is an NCAA "B" Qualifying mark. The women's team finished in eighth place with a total of 145 team points, while the men's team left in ninth place after tallying 132 points.

In the 400-freestyle, the relay consisting of Scott McCracken, Brent Norcross, Scott McCure and Yousif Del Valle touched the wall in 3:06.23 to finish in tenth place. The time is the fastest of the season this year for the team by nearly four seconds.

For the women, sophomore Christi Cannon finished in 11th place in the 200-breast stroke with a season-best time of 2:20.86. Freshman Maribeth Pottenger finished in 15th place in 2:24.86. Seniors Tiffany Strawn and Aimee Moreau finished 15th and 16th, respectively, in the 200-backstroke. Strawn touched the wall in a season-best 2:04.18, while Moreau came in right behind in 2:05.47.

In the final event of the day, Karen Sandifer, Tara Sullivan, Emily Duerringer and Erica Tate teamed up in the 400-freestyle relay and finished with a time of 3:28.31, which is the fastest time for the Frogs this season.

The team will return to competition on Jan. 7 when they travel to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the Tampa Relays. The Frogs will be in Florida for their holiday training trip.
