FORT WORTH - TCU's women's swimming and diving team wraps up its regular season Wednesday with a home dual meet against North Texas. The Horned Frogs and Mean Green begin the dual meet at the University Recreation Natatorium at 6 p.m.

"It will be a really close meet," TCU head coach Richard Sybesma said. "I am expecting to see some great things from our kids like we have recently."

The TCU women are 3-3 on the season. The Horned Frogs women have been in a tough stretch of meets, with Wednesday's festivities being the fourth dual meet in 13 days.

"This is our fourth meet in two weeks," Sybesma said. "Emotionally each meet has taken something out of the squad, as it would to most teams. I hope we are able to bounce back against North Texas."

Sybesma and the Frogs are looking at the long-term value of going up against tough competition the past few days. The Big 12 Championships begin four weeks from Wednesday night. The first event of Wednesday's meet at 6 p.m. will be the 200 medley relay. The first swimming event of the Big 12 Championships on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. will be the women's 200 medley relay.

"Our team has a lot more experience with racing," Sybesma noted. "I think they have had to learn how to win on talent over emotion. You can win on emotion every once in a while, but if you want to win consistently you have to do it on talent."

The Mean Green and Horned Frogs were both part of the UIW Invitational field in December in San Antonio. UNT defeated TCU in the team standings 1,911-to-1,810. However, star power will play more of a role in this meet without the unlimited scoring model of UIW Invite.

North Texas is led by the versatile sophomore Krista Rossum, who has NCAA `B' cuts in the 100 and 200 breast and 400 IM. Rossum's top time in the 200 breast came in the finals of the event at the UIW Invite when TCU's Gabi Korac edged her out and broke the school record in the process. The Mean Green are also strong in the backstroke with sophomore Mona Groteguth posting NCAA `B' cuts in the 100 and 200 back.

The meet will be the final meet for the Horned Frogs before the Big 12 Championships on Feb. 27-March 2 in Austin.
