AUSTIN, Texas – The TCU swimming and diving team opened up competition at the Big 12 Championships on Wednesday, where the women’s 200 medley relay set a new school record and earned a second-place finish.

The 200 medley tandem of Maddie Ibrahim, Devin Newton, Micaela Roemer, and Claire Munster opened up the conference meet with a bang, finishing in 1:40.31. The previous record was 1:40.83, set by the same quartet at last year’s Big 12 Championship.

In the men’s one-meter dive, two Horned Frogs advanced to the finals, where Derek Bowers finished fifth (302.90) and Owen Moncino finished eighth (240.75).

Thursday’s action starts with the preliminaries at 10 a.m. and the finals scheduled for 6 p.m.
