Roemer Breaks School Record on Day Three

AUSTIN, Texas – The TCU swimming and diving team continued competition at the Big 12 Championship on Friday. After being a part of record breaking relays on the first two days of the meet, Micaela Roemer broke her own 100 fly school record.
After recording a 54.12 mark in the prelims, Roemer finished with a 53.79 cut in the finals and finished fifth place. She held the previous record of 53.96, which she set earlier this season at the Texas Invitational. Catherine Maxey finished seventh in the 100 fly, finishing with 54.27 cut.
In addition to the 100 fly, Maxey reached the 200 free A finals where she finished sixth in 1:49.02. Katelyn Kenchel finished two spots behind her, finishing in 1:50.72.
Maddie Ibrahim continued her strong championship meet, reaching the women’s 100 back A finals. In the finals, she recorded a 54.63 cut and finished fourth.
In the women’s 400 IM, Kiki Rice reached the A finals, where she finished sixth with a 4:21.88 mark. Ally Robertson and Victoria Barczyk took the top two spots in the B Final, finishing in 4:22.72 and 4:28.75 respectively.
Senior Darian Nezami reached the men’s 100 back A final, where he finished fifth place with a 49.73 mark.
TCU returns to action on Saturday for the final day of the Big 12 Championship. Prelims are scheduled for 10 a.m.
