FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU diving team wrapped up the 2008-09 season last weekend, competing in the NCAA Zone `D' Diving Championships in Colombia, Mo.
Senior R.J. Hesselberg was the only Frog diver to compete in all three events. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada product earned his best finish in the platform dive, garnering seventh place with a total score of 593.80 after turning in a 302.65 score in the finals. From the three-meter springboard, Hesselberg finished in 10th place with a 323.20 score in the finals for a 639.40 total. The senior also took 12th place in the one-meter dive with a total score of 560.85.
Sophomore Kyle Callens competed in both the one- and three-meter diving for the second-straight year. From the lower dive, the Deer Park, Texas native scored 502.05 for a 14th-place finish. From the three-meter dive, Callens took the 13th spot for his 612.60 effort, including a 289.35 tally in the finals.
Junior Jennifer Ferguson claimed 10th place from the three-meter springboard on the women's side, totaling a 571.50 finish after turning in a 290.25 scorecard in the final six dives. The Beaconsfield, Quebec, Canada native also finished in 18th place in the one-meter event for her 476.55 effort.
All three divers earned medals at this season's Mountain West Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla., while also garnering All-MWC honors.
