FORT WORTH – Adam Szilagyi became the fourth member of TCU’s men’s swimming and diving signing class, TCU coach Richard Sybesma announced Monday.
The Szazhalombattai, Hungary, native swims a variety of strokes, including the backstroke, butterfly and sprint freestyle. He holds long-course meters personal bests of 23.99 (50-free), 52.71 (100-free) and 1:53.76 (200-free).
For the backstroke and butterfly, Szilagyi clocked personal bests of 25.75 (50-back), 55.49 (100-back) and 2:04.97 (200-back). In the butterfly, the transfer from Semmelweis University has notched marks of 25.43 in the 50-fly and 55.04 in the 100-fly.
In 2009, Szilagyi set Hungarian national records in the 50-back and 100-back. He also has notched second-place finishes in the two events at the European National Championships.
Szilagyi, who signed a financial aid agreement, joins Cory Nix, Ford Story and Harrison Bui as members of 2012 TCU swimming and diving spring signing class.
