H2O Frogs Open Season on Wednesday

Oct. 5, 2004

The TCU swimming and diving team will open the 2004-05 season on Wednesday afternoon at the University Recreation Center. The Frogs will square off with McMurry University and Centenary College in dual meet action beginning at 4 p.m.

On this season's squad, the H2O Frogs return 28 letter winners, including 16 student-athletes that were all-Conference USA performers a year ago. The team also welcomes a talented recruiting class to the mix that includes one Junior College all-American and ten high school all-Americans.

Last season at the C-USA Championships and Invitational, TCU became the first school in conference history to sweep the event after they won a total of 16 events in Houston. Backstroke specialist Craig Chapman was named the C-USA Swimmer of the Meet and Head Coach Richard Sybesma was named the C-USA Coach of the Year.

In dual action a year ago, the women's team compiled a 12-1 overall record, while the men's team finished with a 9-2 mark.
