TCU Hosts San Diego State

FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU women’s swimming and diving team returns to the pool when they host the San Diego State University Aztecs on Friday, Nov. 1. The meet is slated to begin at 12 p.m. at the TCU Recreation Center Natatorium.

The Horned Frogs are 1-1 on the season, defeating Big 12 foe Kansas at home before falling to North Carolina. Senior Gabi Korac led the TCU women against the Tarheels, picking up a win in the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.02), finishing third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.70) and posting the Horned Frogs top time in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.75). Sophomore Mikayla Winkler has also had a strong start to the season, she was the top finisher for TCU against Kansas, earning 18 points with wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.99) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:59.79).

The meet will be the first dual of the season for the Aztecs. It marks the first meet of the teams since TCU’s entry into the Big 12. SDSU and TCU met annually from the 2007-08 to 2011-12 as members of the Mountain West Conference.
