TCU Falls to SDSU

FORT WORTH, Texas - Senior Gabi Korac, junior Ali Bleasdell and sophomore Kristen Connolly each earned event titles for TCU on Friday afternoon at the Recreation Center Natatorium. The Horned Frogs fell to San Diego State, 138.5-156.5 in dual meet action, moving to 1-2 on the season.
Korac earned her first 100-yard breaststroke title of the season with a 1:05.57 and swam the second leg for the Horned Frogs 200-yard medley relay which finished second overall with a 1:46.69.
Bleasdell turned in the top time in the 200-yard individual medley with a 2:07.33. Sophomore Sara Brzozowski added a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:06.04) while finishing third in the 400-yard individual medley (4:31.30). Sophomore transfer Lyndsie Gibson won silver in the 100-yard backstroke (57.87) and took bronze in the 50-yard backstroke (27.29).
Freshmen Julie Grace Sanders and Hannelore Strash each posted a pair of second-place finishes. Sanders finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.01) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.83) while Strash was the runner-up in the 50-yard butterfly (26.26) and 100-yard butterfly (56.67).
In diving competition, Connolly paced the Horned Frogs, winning 1-meter diving with a 290.63 while scoring a 273.80 in 3-meter diving to finish second overall.
The TCU women return to the pool on Friday, Nov. 8 when they travel to Ames, Iowa for a dual with Big 12 foe Iowa State.
