AUSTIN, Texas - The TCU men's and women's swimming and diving teams had solid results on Friday during the second day of action at the prestigious University of Texas Invitational. Three Horned Frog swimmers recorded top-20 finishes during the evening's events, while a pair of TCU divers had top-5 landings.

Pacing the women's team were Christi Cannon and Keleigh Wentworth. The teammates placed 16th and 17th respectively in the 400-yard individual medley. Cannon's time in the "B" group finals was 4:32.70, while Wentworth posted a 4:30.57 to lead the "C" group.

In other pool action, the Frogs' Maribeth Pottenger placed 29th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.03. Diver Kelly Seely matched her previous day's performance on the 1-meter board by placing fifth on the 3-meter. Her score (282.10) was a mere 10.45 points out of second place.

For the men, Guillermo Ramirez highlighted the day with a 15th-place effort in the 100-yard backstroke. Ramirez's time of 49.62 earned him an NCAA "B" cut qualifying spot. Jonathon Berrettini also had an impressive showing in the event, as the sophomore placed 21st (50.59).

Diver Kelly McCain, who placed sixth on the 3-meter on Thursday, grabbed the fifth spot on the 1-meter board. McCain, who last year became the first diver in school history to reach the NCAAs, had a final-round total of 265.85.

The Frogs will return to action Saturday morning with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. Finals will follow later in the day starting at 6 p.m.
