TCU Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week

Dec. 21, 2016

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Chris Washburn of men's basketball and Megan White of women's diving have been named TCU's Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week based on impressive performances in their last outings.

Washburn, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, had 15 points and nine rebounds against Texas Southern. Washburn led TCU in scoring in just 11 minutes of play as the Horned Frogs topped the Tigers, 96-59. The senior made the most out of every shot, padding the stat sheet at 5 of 8 from the field, and 5 of 6 from the charity stripe. Washburn's nine rebounds attributed to a season-high (50) for TCU.

Up next, TCU (10-1) hosts Bradley (5-7) on Wednesday in its last game before Big 12 play. The Horned Frogs are home for their conference opener on Dec. 30 against third-ranked Kansas.

Smith, a native of Medina, Minn., earned her first victory as a Horned Frog at the Incarnate Word Christmas Invitational over the weekend. The freshman topped all competitors in the 3-meter dive as she earned a score of 257.20, giving TCU 20 points for the win. White also went on the take home silver in the platform event behind a finals score of 167.75, good for 17 points.

The swimming and diving teams will return to action and jump into Big 12 competition as they head to Morgantown, W. Va., to take on the Mountaineers on Jan. 14.
