* Abdul Rasheed is the Horned Frogs top threat in the horizontal jumps after qualifying for the NCAA Championships in both the indoor and outdoor triple jumps in 2001.

* Earned All-America status after placing fifth in the NCAA outdoor triple jump.

* Became the school record holder in the indoor triple jump last season.

* Is another outstanding athlete to make his way from Barton County (Kansas) Community College to Fort Worth and the TCU campus.

* Earned Junior College All-America status five times during his stint at Barton County.

2001

* Competed in both the long jump and triple jump during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

* Best long jump effort during the indoor season was 7.37 meters (24-02.25) at the Oklahoma Indoor Classic.

* Placed seventh at the WAC Indoor Championships in the long jump with a distance of 7.11 meters (23-04.00).

* Came away with a third place in the triple jump at the WAC Championships with a best leap of 15.48m (50-09.50).

* Exploded with his best triple jump of the indoor season at the Iowa State Last Chance, earning a trip to the NCAA Championships...His leap of 15.96 meters (52-04.50) set a TCU indoor record in the triple jump.

* Placed 12th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Arkansas.

* Best long jump during the outdoor season was a jump of 7.40m (24-03.50), which earned him first place at the UTA Open.

* Placed sixth in the WAC Championships in the long jump.

* Best triple jump during the outdoor campaign was a wind-aided jump of 16.29 meters (53-05.25) at the TCU Invitational.

* Won the WAC Championships triple jump with a mark of 16.19m (53-01.50).

* Placed fifth at the NCAA Championships in the triple jump with a best mark of 16.20m (53-01.75).

1999-2000 (Barton County C.C.)

* Was a five-time juco All-American during his stint at Barton County Community College.

* Helped Barton County to four national team championships.

* Twice was the national runner-up in the triple jump and was a two-time bronze medalist in the long jump at the NJCAA meet.

* Posted personal bests of 25-2 3/4 in the long jump and 54-1 in the triple jump...Qualified for the 2000 Olympic Trials in the triple jump.

* Head coach was Lance Brauman.

* Graduated from Halletsville High School in 1998 after earning four letters each in football, basketball and track.

* Was a two-time (1997-'98) Texas state champion in the triple jump and was the state runner-up in the long jump as a senior... Was a Track & Field News high school All-American in the triple jump in 1998.

* Posted personal bests of 24-7 in the long jump and 50-11 1/2 in the triple jump.
