SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A young TCU men’s 4x400-meter relay team competed Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational, Notre Dame’s NCAA Qualifying Meet.

In a field with some of the nation’s top mile relay squads, the quartet of Ronnie Baker, Joshua Washington, Harvey McSwain and Sam Watts finished seventh in a time of 3:08.25. The group featured three freshmen with Washington the veteran of the group as a sophomore.

The run moved TCU up to 22nd nationally in the 4x400-meter relay. Though that will not fall into the top-12 needed to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships next week, the group will have good momentum for the TCU Invitational in two weeks.

The selections for the NCAA Indoor Championships will be announced in the next two days. The championships will take place Friday and Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
