Frogs Compete In Second Day of Texas Relays

Austin, Texas - TCU had six runners compete on the second day of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday. The Frogs were represented in both the women's 400 meter hurdles and in both the men's and women's 5,000 meter run.
Junior Julie Curtis and freshmen Gina Messamer were the first Frogs on the track Thursday, competing in the 400 meter hurdles. Curtis placed 23rd overall with a time of 62.36, while Messamer logged a time of 67.06 to finish in 48th place.
Freshman Halie Bullin and sophomore McKale Davis were next up in the women's 5,000 meter run. The duo placed 14th and 16th, with Bullin breaking the line in 18:01.93 and Davis just a couple of meters back, finishing in 18:04.74.
Sophomore Alex Morris and freshman Matt Manly were the final TCU competitors on the track Thursday, vying for the men's 5,000 meter title. Morris ran a time of 15:38.69 to place 16th while Manly logged a time of 16:01.59 to finish in 20th place.
The 78th running of the Texas Relays continues through Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus in Austin.
