The TCU track & field squad turned in its best effort of the outdoor season on Saturday while competing at the Texas A&M Invitational. The Flyin' Frogs logged numerous NCAA Regional qualifying marks while competing against teams from Texas, UT-San Antonio, Prairie View A&M, Southwest Texas, Rice, Monterrey Tech, SMU and the host Aggies.

On the men's side, Jabari Fields, Brandon Simpson and Jackson Langat all took first place honors in the 100, 400 and 800 meters respectively, all with NCAA Regional qualifying times. Fields won the 100 in 10.31, Simpson took the 400 in 46.49 and Langat, the all-American running for the first time in the outdoor season, won the 800 in 1:49.23. Fields and Jerry Harris also logged NCAA Regional qualifying marks in the 200 with times of 20.92 and 20.98 respectively. Nathaniel Garcia posted an NCAA Regional qualifying mark with a time of 52.51 to take the bronze medal in the 400 meter hurdles.

On the women's side, the Frogs put three runners into the Regional meet in the 100 meter dash, based on Saturday's performances. Monica Twum finished second in 11.47 seconds, while Donita Harmon was fifth in 11.65 and Tiffany Starts was 10th in 11.80. Larissa Bakasa qualified for the regional meet in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 54.80 seconds, good for fourth place.

"It was a good meet for us," said TCU Head Coach Monte Stratton. "We had several people qualify for the regional meet. I thought Jabari Fields ran exceptionally well in both the 100 and 200 meters. Overall, it was a great tuneup for next week's home meet," continued the TCU coach. "We hope to put on a show for the home crowd next Saturday."
