Terry, Smith Post Wins at Longhorn Invite

AUSTIN, Texas -- The TCU Horned Frogs brought home a pair of top finishes from the Longhorn Invitational Saturday.
For the second week in a row, TCU's Tricia Terry won the women's 1,500 meters. Last week she won the prestigious Drake Relays (16:17.57) and Saturday she won in Austin with the time of 4:24.74.
In addition to Terry's win, TCU's thrower Megan Smith added yet another win by finishing first in the women's shot put with the mark of 50-00.50. She also placed fourth in the women's discus at 174-10.
"Anytime you can win it's good," TCU track and field coach Darryl Anderson said.
For Terry, it's her third win of the season in the event. Along with the Longhorn Invitational and Drake Relays, she won the TCU Invitational (4:37.62) March 21.
For Smith, the women's shot put win at the Longhorn Invitational was her fourth of the season to go along with the TCU Invitational, Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersey Invitational and the Michael Johnson Invitational.
Former Frog Charles Silmon the 100 meters (9.98) and 200 meters (20.39).
In other notable performances: Adam Damadzic set a personal-record in the discus with a toss of 182-02 to finish fourth, and Cameron Tabor was third in the shot put at 54-04.
The Frogs are back in action May 16-18 at the Big 12 Conference Outdoor Championships in Lubbock.
