8 Frogs Punch Tickets to Big 12 Finals

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The TCU women's track and field team collected 15 points on Day Two of the Big 12 Conference Outdoor Championships Saturday at Fuller Track Stadium behind scoring marks from Megan Smith, Lorraine Ugen and Anna Robinson.
The Frogs women are poised to add to their total with four student-athletes earning spots in Sunday's finals, while the four Frog men will compete in five individual finals.
"We don't have a lot (in the finals), but the people that made the finals ran really well today and hopefully Sunday they can do the same thing," TCU track and field coach Darryl Anderson said.
Smith earned eight points for the Frogs with a second-place finish in the shot put (53 feet, 11.25 inches), while Ugen (20-01) and Robinson (19-03.25) finished fourth and seventh, respectively, in the women's long jump.
Tricia Terry punched her ticket into the 1,500-meter final with a 4 minutes, 28.08 seconds time in the preliminaries, while Makaila Flannigan (13.82) will participate in the 100H final; Ugen in the 100 meters after posting the time of 11.60 in the prelims; and Briyanni Thomas, who finished second in her heat (52.85), in the 400-meter final.
The Frog men picked up an additional point Saturday thanks to a eighth-place finish by Ramone Bailey(24-01.50) in the long jump.
Kolby Listenbee earned spots in the 100- and 200-meter finals after posting the time of 10.23 in the 100 and and 20.97 in the 200.
Both the Frog men women (15) and Frog men (3) are in ninth place heading into the final day of competition.
Field events Sunday begin at 11 a.m., while running events begin at 5:30 p.m. with the women's 4 x 100 relay.
