FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU Track and Field coach Darryl Anderson announced Friday the signings of six student-athletes who will join the program in the fall.

The men's team added three in Antonio Franklin (Irving, Texas); JC transfer Kemarley Brown (Merritt College) and Scotty Newton (Bakersfield, Calif.), while the women's side added three in the Frogs inked Bailey Sullivan (Lawrence, Kan.); Anna Cozat (Spring Branch, Texas) and Devan Foster (Littleton, Colo.).

"On the women's side, we added in areas that we need to add bodies because of the depth in the distances, and on the men's side, we added some more depth with our sprinter group," said Anderson, who is still working to add more student-athletes to this recruiting class.

As a sophomore, Foster (Arapahoe HS) won the 800 meters (2:10.50) and the 1600 meters (4:59.68) at the Colorado High School State Meet, and last year she placed second in the 800 meters (2:13.28).

"That's pretty special when you can win your state meet as a sophomore," Anderson said. "We think she can come in and grow and develop into a very important part of our middle-distance group."

Cozart (Smithson Valley HS) placed fifth in the Texas Class 4A State meet in the 800 meters (2:13.42) in her sophomore year, and was a key component in her team winning the state cross country championship this year.

"Her cross country season this past year indicates that a lot of good things are on the horizon for her in track and field," Anderson said. "She seems very dedicated and we're looking forward to having her join our program."

Sullivan (Lawrence Free HS) has a personal-best of 5:08 in the 1600 meters. Last year, she won the Newton Cross Country Invitational with the time of 14:53.15.

"We feel like we've added someone that's going to develop really well in our program," Anderson said. "We think she's a sleeper and someone that can come in and really helps is with depth."

Franklin (Irving HS), Anderson said, is the top 100-meter guy in the state after finishing third in the event at the Class 5A Texas High School State Meet last year (10.45).

"We feel like he will fit into our program extremely well," Anderson said.

Brown won the NorCal Community College championship in the 100 meters with the time of 10.34 while at Merritt College (Oakland, Calif.).

"We feel like he can come in and have an immediate impact in our program and give us a little more depth in an area in which we have been really strong," Anderson said.

Newton (Bakersfield HS) won the long jump (24-2.75) at the CIF Central Section - South Area Championships, and placed fourth (23-5.5) at the CIF State Finals. He also placed fifth in the triple jump (47-9.75) at the CIF State Finals.

"We feel like he'll grow and immediately impact us in the Big 12 Conference and potentially become a national guy for us," Anderson said.
