Both will be competing individually in the 100-meter dash on Friday.

The transition to outdoor will include a variety of different events from the indoor season. The field events will include the discus, javelin and hammer throw, and the 4x100-meter dash, 100/110-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles will all be appearing for the first time this season.

The new events will also open the door to some new faces getting to compete in their specialty events. In the field, Makena Schroder will make her debut for TCU in the women’s javelin. Schroder was a two-time Oregon state champion in the javelin. On the men’s side, thrower Adam Damadzic will get his first chance to compete in his specialty event in the discus. Damadzic was a 2012 UK Olympic Trials finalist in the discus.

Among the teams slated to compete is Big 12 foe Baylor, North Texas, Texas State and UT-Arlington.
