While the TCU Horned Frogs were idle, the men of Tennessee claimed the SEC title and advanced to the No. 1 spot in the nation for the first time ever, as the latest Trackwire 25 was announced this week.

The Vols tally 51 points this week, mostly with the help of freshman sprint sensation Justin Gatlin. He moved to No. 1 on the 200-meter chart with his world-leading 20.29 in the prelims, plus a strong win in the final at the conference meet. Half-mile Jebreh Harris and long jumper Camron Howard also aided Tennessee as they moved into the scoring zone in their events with their SEC performances. The Frogs, who held the top spot for the past two weeks, slipped into a second place tie with NCAA indoor champion LSU. Both teams garnered 46 points. Stanford and Florida are tied for the fourth spot with 40 points.

The Flyin' Frogs will be back in action this weekend at the WAC Championships in Fresno, California. After winning the conference indoor title, TCU is favored to take the outdoor crown as well, but will be challenged by SMU and UTEP. The Frogs produced their top outdoor conference finish ever last season when they placed second behind the Mustangs of SMU.
