Frogs Head to Arkansas for NCAA Prelims

"Basically this is the first round of the NCAA tournament," TCU track and field coach Darryl Anderson said. "This is what we've worked for the last 8 1/2 months. We start training in September and it's May now. This is what it's all about."
Following the competition in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the top 12 finishers in each individual event and the top 12 relays qualify for the national semifinal and final rounds of the NCAA Championships to be be help June 11-14 at the University of Oregon.
"We're out of school and we don't have to worry about classes and studying," Anderson said. "The biggest thing on our plates has been the preparation for the rest of the season."
A total of 16 Frogs qualified for individual 15 events (five will compete in two individual events each) as well as four relay teams (men's and women's 4 x 100 and 4 x 400) qualified for this weekend's meet. The three-day competition begins Thursday at noon with the women's javelin, while the running events get underway at 4:30 p.m. with the men's 400 hurdles.

Men's shot put: Cameron Tabor (40th, 17.39m)
Women's shot put: Megan Smith (8th, 16.44m)
Women's discus: Megan Smith (11th, 55.24m)
Women's 1,500 meters: Tricia Terry (16th, 4:21.91)
Women's 5,000 meters: Tricia Terry (23rd, 16:17.57)
Men's 400 meters: Narada Jackson (47th, 47.26)
Men's 110H: Jordan Moore (11th, 13.68)
