FORT WORTH, Texas
- Flyin' Frogs head coach Darryl Anderson
once again sat down with GoFrogs.com on Wednesday to give fans an inside look into how practice has gone entering Thanksgiving break.
This is the fifth installment of Anderson's weekly look into preseason workouts. TCU will open the indoor season on Dec. 12 at the Texas A&M Invitational.
We are in really good shape going into Thanksgiving break. We have kind of turned the corner and are doing some things as we close the fall. We have done some testing and I think for the most part the testing has gone well. Specifically, the quarter mile guys have run under 1:20.00 for 600 meters, while the short sprinters have clocked 33 seconds for 300 meters, so it has been good. We have had some flying sprints and our best has been 2.83, which is great. Really, our starts have started to look right, while our hurdlers are back to looking like hurdlers again, so I think we are in really good shape. This is where we want them to be at the end of the fall and we have three weeks to go before we head to Texas A&M. The guys are so experienced that they have been able to handle pretty much everything right on task. On the ladies side, we have to keep coaching them because of their inexperience and youthfulness, but I think they have done a good job of listening and understanding what we want to accomplish as coaches. Overall, we are moving in the right direction and I feel good about where we are at heading into Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving and Go Frogs!!
