Outlook
Shannon Brown hopes to have a successful second campaign in a Frog uniform. If she can come back healthy from injury, she will be the starting middle blocker for TCU. She is dedicated to being on the floor, and improved a great deal in the spring. The energetic Brown adds personality to the team. She will also continue her assault on the career block record list.

2001 (Freshman)
Brown spent her first season fighting injury, but she did earn five starts and played in 14 matches. Her most spectacular outing of her freshman campaign came against Indiana State in the Holiday Inn Classic when she posted seven kills, 19 attacks, four digs and seven blocks. Brown made her mark on the top 20 career lists with 1.14 kills per game (17th), a .139 attack percentage (20th), and 27 blocks (16th). In addition, she holds the No. 4 mark for blocks per game with 0.93 in her first season. Brown led the team in blocks on four occasions, including the first three matches of the season.

High School
Brown?s Clark High School volleyball team finished as Class 5A state runners-up in 2000 and 1999, as well as regional finalists in 1998. Brown was twice named an all-tournament selection during her senior season. She was named to the Texas Girls? Coaches Association All-Star first team. In addition, she played club volleyball with Alamo Junior Volleyball Association since 1999. Her 1999 team earned a bronze medal in the Junior Olympics, while the 2000 squad placed 11th. Brown was named Player of the Year?South Texas by schoolsports.com. Outside of volleyball, Brown was involved with student council, Young Life, and modeled. She was named to Who?s Who in Sports - 2000/2001. She chose TCU over 230 other schools including Texas A&M, SMU, Texas, UC-Santa Barbara and Duke.

Born Oct. 29, 1983, Shannon Brown is the daughter of David and Pam Brown. She is a pre-law/communications major. Her father played basketball at UC-Santa Barbara.
