With the loss of Erin Ludeke, Skye Tacker's experience will be called upon at times to quarerback the team behind returning starter Loren Barry. The lefty's collected demeanor on the court lends a calm to the team.
Sophomore Season (2003)
In Tacker's sophomore season, she played back-up to record-breaking setter Tori Barlow. Seeing action in 14 matches, the transfer dished out a season-high 24 assists against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Her total of 88 assists places her 12th all-time in TCU volleyball career records. In the matches she played significant time, the Frogs averaged a .425 hitting percentage.
Prior to TCU
Tacker competed her freshman year for head coach Cathy Ray while at Dallas Baptist. She was named Newcomer of the Year following her freshman campaign.
Another metroplex product and prep teammate of Frog Anna Vaughn, Tacker earned Tarrant County Newcomer of the Year and District 6-4A Setter of the Year accolades in 2001. While at Southlake Carroll High School, she played for Wyvonne Walling. In addition to volleyball, Tacker played basketball and softball.
Born on December 30, 1983, Skye Malynn Tacker is the daughter of Paul and Dianne Tacker. She plans to major in business at TCU. Her father played football at Northwestern Louisiana. Older brother, Trevor, played three years in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees.
