Coming off its second-consecutive 20-win season second round appearance in the Conference USA tournament, the TCU volleyball program released its 2005 schedule on Monday. The agenda sports two home tournaments as well as the Horned Frogs' new conference opponents.

The Frogs will start the season with an intrasquad scrimmage on Friday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the University Recreation Center. The next day, the "B" squad will match up against alumni at 4:30 p.m. as the opening act to the Frogs' season-opener against Oklahoma at 7:00 p.m.

A trip to Virginia begins the road season's competition at George Mason Sept. 2 and 3; opponents to be announced at a later date. The team plays in Denver's tourney, Sept. 9 and 10, against Idaho State, Jacksonville, and Denver.

The TCU Molten/Adidas Invitational is scheduled for Sept. 16 and 17, and features Campbell, Maine, and Minnesota. The next weekend's Fort Worth Plaza Invitational showcases Stephen F. Austin, Grambling State, and Winthrop, during the Sept. 23 and 24 tournament, followed by a tilt against North Texas at home at 7:00 p.m. Sept. 27.

The Frogs open play in their new league, Mountain West, on the road Sept. 30 at Utah. In the midst of conference action, TCU travels to Edinburg, Texas to face UT-Pan American and Prairie View A&M in a non-conference tourney Oct. 22. UNLV hosts the conference tournament Nov. 23-27.

"We are excited to join the Mountain West in 2005," Head Coach Prentice Lewis said. "It will be difficult because we are the odd team out in our first trip around the league. We have a scheduling philosophy in which we want to play teams from major conferences and teams from smaller conferences that have made the NCAA tournament, as well as scheduling an educational trip like the one to Washington D.C. this year. We're excited that we've met those goals for 2005. We came a long way to get non-conference matches against teams like Minnesota and Oklahoma, and we're looking forward to the new challenges that the MWC has to offer."
