FORT WORTH, Texas (Oct. 27) - The TCU volleyball team suffered it fourth consecutive loss and sixth consecutive to the No. 2 ranked Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Friday night. A 3-0 win improved Hawaii's record to 19-0 (9-0 WAC) and dropped TCU's record under the .500 mark at 12-13 (4-5 WAC) for the first time since September 9.

The Frogs gave Hawaii all it could handle as TCU jumped out to a 7-2 lead in game one. Hawaii staged a comeback and drew within one point at 7-6 and later tied the score at 11-11. TCU went on a 3-0 run to take a 14-11 lead but could not close out the Wahine. Hawaii fought off the Frogs' momentum and four game points to take game one 17-15. Game two was not as impressive for the Frogs as Hawaii took the early lead and never looked back. TCU managed a couple mini-scoring runs to get the score close but fell short at 15-10. The Frogs hung with Hawaii half way through game three playing point-for-point to 8-8 before the Wahine wrapped it up with seven unanswered.

"I was pleased with our play tonight and more impressed with how hard we fought," said head coach Sandy Troudt. "Our attitudes were great coming into the match and it showed in how we played."

Though the Frogs lost to the Wahine the statistics show TCU is headed in the right direction. The Frogs' 33 points in the three games were the most they have ever scored versus the Rainbow Wahine. Amy Atamanczuk's 14 kills, Allison Lynch's 7 blocks and Lindsay Hayes' 38 assists were the most any Horned Frogs has ever recorded against Hawaii.

TCU returns to the court Saturday night as they host Nevada at 7:00 p.m. in the Rickel Center.
